Two-minute tutorial: turning messy notes into a tidy list
How to turn scribbled meeting notes into a clear, split to-do list in a minute or so
Most notes taken during or right after a meeting are a mess — half-sentences, abbreviations only you understand, things jotted in whatever order they happened to be said. They're useful in the moment and nearly useless an hour later, once the context in your head has faded. An AI chat tool can turn that scribble into a real list without you having to sit down and rewrite it yourself from memory, and without losing anything important along the way. This is especially true if you take calls back-to-back — a job walkthrough, then a supplier call, then a client check-in — where the notes from the first one are already blurring into the second before you've had a chance to act on either.
Do this now
- Copy your rough notes — bullet points, half-sentences, whatever you scribbled down during or right after the call. There's no need to clean them up first; the messier the source, the more this step is actually worth doing.
- Paste them into the chat box exactly as they are. Typos, shorthand, and out-of-order thoughts don't matter here, and you don't need to explain what any of it means.
- Ask for one tidy list, split into "today" and "this week." This split turns a wall of scattered notes into something you can actually act on right away, without having to sort it yourself.
- Copy the list straight into your notes app or planner, ready to work from without any further tidying on your end.
Try this
Turn these messy notes into a tidy to-do list, split into today and this week: [PASTE YOUR NOTES].
What you'll get back
In our runs, you'll get back a clear, ordered list in well under a minute — grouped so you know exactly what needs doing before the day is out and what can safely wait a few days, instead of one long undifferentiated dump of tasks you have to re-read to prioritise every time you glance at it. It reads less like a transcript and more like a plan — the kind of list you could hand to someone else and trust they'd know exactly where to start without asking you a single follow-up question.
This is exactly what Sundayclear's Meeting Notes to Actions helper does for you, with the template already built so you're not writing the same prompt from memory every time a call ends. It's a small step, but it closes the gap between "I took notes" and "I know what to do next," which is usually the part that actually matters once a meeting is over and the next thing on your day has already started. Do this right after the call, while the shorthand still makes sense to you, and the notes never get a chance to go cold — no more staring at your own handwriting a week later trying to work out what you meant by it.
