Two-minute tutorial: a weekly review in three questions

Run a short, honest Friday check-in on your business with three simple questions instead of skipping it entirely

Most solo business owners know a weekly review would help — a moment to notice what's working before the week resets and the next one starts crowding it out — but it rarely happens, because it's easy to skip something that has no fixed shape and no one asking you to show up for it. When you work alone, there's no team meeting to force the reflection and no manager expecting a summary, so the whole habit depends on you deciding, in the moment, that it's worth two minutes of a Friday you'd rather already be finished with. This gives that check-in a shape: three questions, a couple of minutes, done before you close your laptop for the weekend and stop thinking about work entirely.

Do this now

  1. Set aside two minutes on a Friday afternoon, or whenever your week naturally ends. It doesn't need a calendar invite or a special ritual — just a moment when the week's work is still fresh enough in your mind to be honest about.
  2. Ask the tool to walk you through three questions: what worked, what didn't, and what's one change for next week. Having it ask, rather than you staring at a blank page trying to think of a format, makes it far more likely you'll actually sit down and answer.
  3. Answer each question in a few short lines, in plain language. You're not writing a report for anyone else — a sentence or two per question, honestly answered, is enough to be genuinely useful.
  4. Save the answers somewhere you'll actually see them again next Friday, whether that's a notes app, a running document, or the top of your notebook, so the review builds on itself instead of starting from zero each time.

Try this

Ask me three questions for a weekly business review: what worked, what didn't, one change for next week.

What you'll get back

You'll get three direct questions back, one at a time or all together, and a short space to answer honestly — no framework to learn, no template to fill in first. It reads more like a quick conversation with someone who has your best interest in mind than a form you're obligated to complete.

Do this for a few weeks running and the answers start to add up to something genuinely useful: patterns in what keeps not working, and small changes that actually stuck instead of being forgotten by Wednesday. Looking back over a month of short answers tells you far more about how your business is really running than any single week could on its own. This is exactly what Sundayclear's Weekly Review helper gives you, built out into a full template so the habit is even easier to keep than typing the three questions in yourself each time.
